According to the Associated Press, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson pardoned a McCloskey family who brandished their rifle and pistol when a gang of BLM looters broke into private property.

“Mark McCloskey has publicly stated that if he were involved in the same situation, he would have the exact same conduct,” the McCloskeys’ lawyer Joel Schwartz said Tuesday. “He believes that the pardon vindicates that conduct.”

Earlier, Mark and Patricia McCloskey pleaded guilty in order to mitigate a possible prison sentence, as well as, Mark McCloskey is running as a Republican candidate for Senate in Missouri.

The incident drew widespread attention in June 2020, when riots broke out across the country in the wake of outrage over the death of drug addict George Floyd. It is because of this that the McCloskey took up arms to prevent unrest in their neighborhood.

The moment when the family came out to defend the house was filmed on the phones of the protesters from different angles. Later, special prosecutor Richard Callahan said his investigation determined that the protesters were peaceful.
