Two Killed in Brentwood Crash, Leaving Their Children With Serious Injuries
BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA — August 13, 2018
Police say a husband and wife were killed and five people were injured in a crash Sunday afternoon in Brentwood. Among them were their two children.
It is known that Olvin Jimenez was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla south on Crooked Hill Road, just south of the Long Island Expressway, when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed into oncoming traffic when he was stuck by a Toyota Rav4, police said.
Jimenez and his wife 39-year-old Erica Jimenez-Mejia, who were in the front seat, died at the scene. The police arrived at the scene immediately after 911 received a call. Two children were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The doctor said they're out of danger now.
The relationship between the children and the two adults was not immediately clear.
The RAV4 driver, Allision Rose Licata, and her passengers, Nicholas Licata and Emmanuel Licata, were also taken to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
The road was temporarily closed as police investigated the crash.
