A Florida teacher was placed on leave after a video showing her going on racist tirade against a mother and her kids, she called “mulatto.”
Patricia Schmidt, who is a teacher working with special needs kids at Lely Elementary School, was captured making racist rant against a mother and children walking beside her home.
The incident happened on Tuesday. Schmidt was driving her white Mercedez at the time. The video shows she calling the mother “white trash” while behind the wheel of the car.
She also referred to the mom’s kids as “half-breed” and “mulattos.”
“Are they your mulatto kids? You had sex with a black guy? Your kids are half breeds. Look at them,” Schmidt is heard saying in the video.
“Your son must be special ed. He’s a r******d. Your son is a r******d,” the teachers was caught telling mother while she was with her children on public sidewalk.
The day following the Tuesday incident, the Collier County School District placed Schmidt on administrative leave.
“She blares on her horn for like ten seconds, rolls her window down and starts yelling out the window that we can’t walk down that pathway,” the mother said.
“Who knows how she’s treating them in the classroom when their parents aren’t there to defend them”’ the mother told NBC2.
