One Killed, One Wounded in Kentucky Shooting

Two people are victims of a shooting in the state of Kentucky, local media reports.
Kentucky State Police are now investigating the case which resulted in the death of a woman from Barlow and the injury of a man from Grand Rivers. According to an update release by the KSP Sunday Ms. Kelly D. Clanahan, 52, of Barlow died of a gunshot wound. Harold Doug Compton, 42, of Grand Rivers, remains hospitalized and is in stable condition.
Kentucky State Police say an altercation took place inside the residence of Matthew K. Turnbow, 30, of Bardwell. The residence is located approximately three-and-half miles North of Bardwell. Turnbow is alleged to have fired a shotgun which struck both Clanahan and Compton.
Compton was airlifted by Air Evac and transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. An autopsy conducted on Sunday indicates that Clanahan died of gunshot wounds.
Kentucky is known for serious problems with gun violence, and this case is just another tragic indicactor of a troubling trend in the state.
