Two people killed in two apart bashes in New York City early Sunday
A woman was shot dead in Harlem on early Sunday when she attempted to break up a fight.
31-year-old Shanice Young was shot when she tried to calm down two fighting men on W. 128th St. At about 1:15 a.m. one of the men pulled out a gun and fatally shot her in the head.
The incident took place just a block away from the place where the woman resided.
The both man involved in the quarrel fled the scene. They are sought by the NYPD for questioning and arrest. The victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made.
Approximately, at the same time with difference of 15 minutes, a man was shot and killed under the Rockaway Beach boardwalk in Queens, police said. The 32-year-old victim identified as Gerard Pounder was shot once in the chest during a scuffle near Beach 34 St. about 1 a.m.
The victim was rushed to Saint John’s Hospital but the medics could not save him. Other participants of the bash fled the scene. No arrests have been made.
Police said Pounded lived two miles from the place where he was shot.
