Declassified FBI memo of 9/11 tragedy revealed Saudi Arabia's involvement in hijacking

Published on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York, an FBI report revealed that senior Saudi officials were involved in the tragedy.

Despite pressure from US President Joe Biden and his attempts to publish all documents on the terrorist attack as soon as possible and support of the Saudi Embassy in Washington in this matter, most of the report remains "corrected" and does not fully assess the involvement of all participants in the terrorist attack.

But other nuances indicate that various forces were actively involved in helping to organize the 9/11 attack.

The 16-page report contains data that some of the hijackers and their accomplices arrived in the United States long before the terrorist attack.

The main protagonist of the investigation was the former “Saudi consulate in Los Angeles” Omar al-Bayoumi. His status and position are everywhere obscured in the report, but an investigation showed that in February 2000 he "accidentally" met with the hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, and also found them accommodation and provided them with money.

Saudi Arabia is one of the most influential players in the international arena. Also, the royal family buys a huge amount of American weapons, which provides them with immunity from criminal prosecution by the United States and any criticism.

The relatives of the victims are confident that Saudi Arabia played a key role in the preparation of the 9/11 terrorist attack.

"This document, together with the public evidence gathered to date, provides a blueprint for how (al Qaeda) operated inside the US with the active, knowing support of the Saudi government," Jim Kreindler, a lawyer for the victims' relatives said.

Despite the close involvement of the Saudis in the largest terrorist attack in the United States, the FBI and the 9/11 Commission report found "no evidence that the Saudi government as an institution or senior Saudi officials individually funded" the hijackers.
