Police and protestors flooded US Capitol for the “Justice for J6” rally

272

The Capitol Police flooded the area of US Capitol where the right-wing protestors gathered to what they called the “inhumane treatment” of dozens of January 6 rioters who are still jailed and wait for trails.

The protest gathered about 500 people at the “Justice for J6” rally on Union Square.

The authorities prepared for the event and deployed massive police response outside a fenced-off US Capitol. The protest ended up with four arrests.

Ahead of the rally, a fleet of District of Columbia-owned dump trucks lined up to block the city’s streets off from roaming demonstrators, and an olive-green Humvee from neighboring Prince George’s County, Maryland, was stationed outside the Capitol’s Botanic Garden Conservatory.

Despite of the warnings of possible violence, the US Capitol rally mostly remained peaceful.
