Texas mother rants at school board meeting after finding a book in library describing anal sex
A Texas middle school student’s mother ranted at school meeting after finding a book in the school library describing anal sex.
The incident happened at the Lake Travis Independent School District during a board meeting on Wednesday, last week. Mother of one of the students, Kara Bell, railed at the members of the board over the book “Out of Darkness” by Ashley Hope Perez.
Bell, who is a former school board candidate herself, said the book talks about “p***y, anal sex, and saying ‘A Mexican is a Mexican, is a Mexican.” The woman added that one page of the book says, “Take her out back, we boys figured, then hands on the ti**ies.”
“Put it in her coin box, put it in her cornhole, grab a hold of that braid, rub that Calico,” the book also says.
“I do not want my children to learn about anal sex in middle school. I’ve never had anal sex, I don’t want to have anal sex. I don’t want my kids having anal sex,” she told members. “I want you to start focusing on education and not public health.”
Bell’s microphone was eventually cut off. But even after that, she continued to speak and at one point demanded to applaud, ““Do not teach them about anal sex!”

The book was then taken off libraries at Hudson bend and Bee Cave Middle Schools. The school officials said, the materials of the book will be reviewed to confirm whether its content conforms to the policy of the board.
It is unclear how the book got to the school library and who is responsible for that.
