US Border Patrol officials said the Border agents found an abandoned Mexican child traveling among a group of migrants through Texas border.

According to Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol, the agents encountered the group of migrants on November 28. About 47 people were trying to cross the Texas-Mexican border at midnight.

Several migrants told the agents that there was a toddler travelling with them. They said they found him abandoned near a river.

The toddler, approximately estimated as a 2-year-old, was pronouncing only two words, “mama” and “papa”, the release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

The child didn’t have any identification documents on him but the Border Patrol agents noticed a phone number written on his shirt. The agents could reach his mother by this number. She said the boy was 3-year-old and from Honduras.
