Texas man accidently shot and killed his 11-year-old daughter while hunting
A Texas father accidently shot and killed his 11-year-old daughter while hunting on Saturday, police said.
The “hunting accident” took place in Hallsville, Texas, at about 5:00 p.m. Soon the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting of a girl shot.
The deputies later determined that the girl was shot from a high-powered rifle.
A sixth grader, Daisy Grace Lynn George was found by emergency crew with life-threatening injuries. Because of the weather conditions, it was impossible to airlift the girl by a helicopter. She was rushed to the nearby hospital but the medics could not save her.
Her death remains under the investigation.
"Anytime a young person loses their life, it’s tragic for all involved. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends during this difficult time," Sheriff Brandon Fletcher said.
