Michigan convenience store clerk wounded 1 of robbers: Police looking for organized gang
Dearborn police suspect an organized gang of robbers is operating in their town, as armed men are raiding local businesses in a similar fashion.
One of the attacks was recorded on camera. The video shows two armed robbers ordering the clerk to hand over all the cash, but instead, he draws out his pistol and fires several shots towards the robbers.
One of the perpetrators was reportedly injured.
The second robbery happened around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 15) at a business in the 7500 block of Wyoming Avenue, according to authorities.
The robbery was also committed with the use of weapons, but according to official information, no one was injured.
“Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown black male wearing a surgical mask and all black clothing entered the store and fired one round at a victim. The suspect stole several items from the store before attempting to leave. As he was leaving, he fired a second round at another victim. None of the victims were injured,” the press release says.
“This is a heinous crime that is totally unacceptable. We are thankful that no one was injured and we will dedicate all of our resources to identifying the person involved and bringing him to justice,” Dearborn police Chief Ronald Haddad said.
