Eric Adams' younger brother Bernard Adams appointed as new NYPD deputy commissioner
The new Mayor of New York City Eric Adams apparently began to build up his team out of his family. Like his young brother who is now tapped as a deputy NYPD commissioner.
The full scope of 56-year-old Bernard Adams’ responsibilities on the post of new deputy commissioner is not clear yet, but it was reported that the retired NYPD sergeant would oversee government affairs.
Adams the Junior was appointed hours after Eric Adams’s longtime friend Phillip banks was appointed as deputy mayor of public safety.
Bernard Adams was one of the cops who responded to 9/11 attacks while working at Brooklyn’s 88th Precinct.
It’s unclear what salary Bernard Adams would have but a civilian post, deputy police commissioners make around $242,000.
