Illegal firearms and ammunition seized from Ravenna Township home Friday
About 20 firearms and nearly 5,000 rounds of ammunition were seized Friday from a Ravenna Township residence, according to a sheriff’s office.
The guns were discovered inside the residence when The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, along with the Portage County Sheriff’s Office and its Drug and Violent Crime Unit conducted a federal search warrant.
The law enforcement also confiscated numerous high capacity magazines at the scene.
The man residing at this home and whose identification was not revealed, is reportedly banned from possessing firearms due to his previous felony drug trafficking and drug possession convictions in the Portage County Court of Common Pleas.
Investigators will present evidence to the United States Attorneys Office for future criminal charges, the release says.
