A mail tractor driver unhurt as trailer plunges off bridge into the water outside Boston: Video shows
US mail truck plunged into the water outside Boston Saturday.
The fall of the truck into the Charles River was caught on camera. The tractor trailer swerved off the bridge and reportedly dived more than 50 feet to the water. The truck then broke in half, the footage shows.
The driver was unhurt, the reports say. When the Weston Fire Department responded to the scene, he was found standing on the top of the truck.
He was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
The mail landed in the river and it took the crew hours to recover the packages from the water.
It’s unclear what had happened prior to the crash as it remains under the investigation. Police said they notified U.S. Postal service about the incident.
