Two people killed after a car fell upon Amtrak trains after hurtling over a parkway barrier in Upper Manhattan, NYC, police said.

Monday morning, the BMW, heading south on the Henry Hudson Parkway went over a barrier at about 1:45 a.m. after the driver lost control. The vehicle with two people inside landed onto the Amtrak tracks 500 feet below at West 178th Street.

The BMW then engulfed in flames killing one person inside. The driver was thrown from the car and was sound dead at the scene, police reported.

Amtrak alerted customers of delays as a result of the incident.

“Due to a vehicle on the tracks and law enforcement personnel near the tracks, customers may experience delays between New York (NYP) and Albany-Rensselaer (ALB),” Amtrak tweeted Monday morning.

A police source said the cause for losing control over the vehicle was speed.
