Brett Jones Traded to Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – August 27, 2018
The second round pick for the Calgary Stampeders at the 2013 CFL draft, Grey Cup champion of 2014, CFL most outstanding offensive lineman of the same year, center Brett Jones, 27, has been traded to the Minnesota Vikings from the New York Giants.
The Giants will receive a Vikings' draft pick for next year's draft.
While the Giants and Vikings did not disclose the specific draft selection, NFL Network experts state that it will be a seventh-round pick.
Jones, who appeared in 16 games with 13 starts for the Giants in 2017, provides immediate help to the Vikings' offensive line, especially since center Pat Elflein continues to recover from offseason surgeries.
With Jones no longer on the Giants' roster, they are likely to turn to Jon Halapio as the starting center with the versatile John Greco in reserve.
