Evangelical Pastor Seeks Donations for $54 Million Private Jet
LOUISIANA — May 30, 2018
The surprising thing about this order is that, if bought, it would be the fourth private jet of Duplantis. This time, the preacher wants a more modern aircraft that consumes less fuel.
"I've had three jets in my life, and I've used them with pleasure until I could not do more to do the job of the lord," the pastor said on his television show.
Duplantis is known for preaching the gospel of prosperity, a form of Christianity that ensures that the way to guaranteed success in life and a place in heaven depends on how much money one gives to one's neighbor (and ministers such as himself.)
"I seriously believe that if Jesus were physically on earth with us today, he would not be walking on a donkey like in biblical times," said Duplantis. "He would be on a plane, flying around the world and exposing his gospel to all, "he added.
The Duplantis's order has received widespread criticism by both the religious and non-believers alike. However, his plans to buy the jet are still ongoing.
“Now some people believe that preachers shouldn’t have jets. I really believe that preachers ought to go on every available voice, every available outlet, to get this gospel preached to the world,” Duplantis said in a video posted online last week, according to The Christian Post..
By information on Jesse Duplantis Facebook page, Duplantis is scheduled to travel to New York, Tennessee, Michigan, Washington, Montana, California, and Alberta over the next month, with trips back to Louisiana in between.
