"I'm an Ordinary Russian Woman:" Federal News Agency Accountant Elena Khusyaynova Responds to U.S. Accusations
Recently accused of conspiring against America, Ms. Khusyaynova has responded to U.S. officials in a plain and explicit way.
On Friday, the Office of Public Affairs of the Justice Department released a new portion of accusations against Russia, targeting Elena Alekseevna Khusyaynova, a St. Petersburg woman who prosecutors say helped manage the finances of a mysterious but almighty Russian social media effort aimed at interfering in the US political system, including the 2018 midterm elections (and all future elections as well).
The official Department of Justice (Office of Public Affairs) statement reads:
"The alleged conspiracy, in which Khusyaynova is alleged to have played a central financial management role, sought to conduct what it called internally “information warfare against the United States.” This effort was not only designed to spread distrust towards candidates for U.S. political office and the U.S. political system in general, but also to defraud the United States by impeding the lawful functions of government agencies in administering relevant federal requirements".
