Murders and Suicide and Snowflakes Galore
Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends, we’re so glad you could attend. Come inside, come inside. That is, welcome to our USA Really daily podcast for December 4! We’ve got a whole crockpot full of news for you today, so settle into your comfy chair and get ready to hear what’s going on in your world!
As I mentioned yesterday, today is the great feast of the Entrance of the Mother of God into the Temple on the liturgical calendar of the Orthodox Church. There are 12 Great Feasts throughout the Church year, having to do with the life of Christ, of course, and with the life of His Mother. And, of course, there is Pascha, or Easter, the Feast of Feasts! But this feast of the Entrance of the Mother of God commemorates when, at the tender age of 3, the Virgin Mary went to live in the Jewish Temple, as her parents had promised to dedicate her to God, and there she learned to pray from the depths of her heart and become a vessel worthy of containing God Himself. And she is the only one that has ever given God something He didn’t have before—humanity.
And before we jump into the articles, yesterday I told you that our Global Democracy Award contest had come to an end, as the original deadline was December 1, but today I would like to announce to you that it has been EXTENDED until December 31, giving you another month to get us your original works about the US government’s interference in other countries! This is a serious contest, offering thousands of dollars to the winners! And we also still have our Zuckerberg Wanted action going, where we’re looking for solid evidence of the government enforcing illegal censorship online, and especially on social networks. If you have something solid, you could find yourself the happy owner of several thousands of dollars, so check this out now!
Alright, friends, on with the articles! First up is our opinion piece for the day. It’s Part 3 of Seraphim Hanisch’s “What is behind the disintegration of civility in America?” He writes: “Parts I and II examined the present state of American social and political culture, how it has become increasingly coarse and even violent. We also looked back in the nation's history, examining the radically different point of view taken by many Americans in the 19th century, in particular, the connection between one's own personal liberty and gratitude and obedience to God. We further looked at how although the religious identity of Americans remains statistically overwhelmingly Christian, the actual definition of what Christianity actually is has changed radically, from being a God-centered and obedient point of view to a self-centered "God always wants what I want" point of view. As we dive in once again, we need to ruthlessly examine the effects of this "new" Christianity. They are not good, and yet, because of the very nature of this worldview, it is bound to aggravate and enrage anyone who is taken in by this set of ideas.” He then examines individualism and some aspects of the “new” Christianity that reigns. Definitely check this one out!
And from there we jump into our history piece, “This Day in History,” before jumping into the news for the day. First up, on this day in 1942, Operation Long Patrol of the Pacific Theater in the Second World War ended. The operation which might also be referred to as Carlson’s Patrol or Carlson’s Long Patrol was a series of battles conducted by the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion under the command of Evans Carlson during the Guadalcanal Campaign against the Imperial Japanese Army. On this day in 2006, the Jena Six incident occurred, in which 6 black kids in Jena, Louisiana beat up Justin Barker for being white. Of course, the Left tried to hide that racism can go both ways, but in the end they were convicted. Aaaand, on this day last year, there was the Thomas Fire, one of the worst wildfires in both California and overall US history, causing more than $2 billion in damages.
Then let’s kick off the news with more migrant fun: “Mexican President Says He’ll Use Army Against Crime and Migrants.” A military situation is brewing there thanks to the migrants. Thus, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced that he intends to completely change the system of public security, and also announced plans to use the armed forces to combat rampant crime, saying the retooling of the military is “indispensable” for tackling the daunting task of making Mexico safer. According to his view, the system needs a constitutional reform that would allow the marines and army to form a National Guard to police much of the country. Hopes for change are running high there, but as you can guess, there are opposition forces, so this one will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Next up: “Black Holes of the Pentagon: What a large-scale DoD Audit Revealed.” A recent large-scale audit of the US Department of Defense showed disappointing results, which might end up being classified as secret. According to the indicator of budget allocations and budget expenditures among all departments of the executive power of the United States, the Ministry of Defense is the absolute leader. In the past fiscal year 2018, the appropriations for the activities of the DoD amounted to about $700 billion, that is, 17.5% of all budget allocations. Where’s that all going? First, the budget money is stolen by the military. Secondly, state money is used to finance such operations that may harm the national interests of the United States. Thirdly, there are suspicions that the military budget has become the main “purse” of the deep state. Hmmm, the deep state, eh? Hard to imagine that would play a factor here…. Sarcasm.
Then here’s a sad tale for you: A car full of kind-hearted people in Baltimore pulled over to give some money to a woman who was begging for money for her child, and what happened? Some dude ran up and tried to steal the wallet from the woman in the car. She resisted and he pulled out a knife and stabbed her. It’s not clear if the man and the woman begging were in this together, but it seems like they were. They did run off together. The kind woman who lost her life for trying to help someone allegedly in lead is Jacquelyn Smith. Homicide detectives said the man is the main suspect, but police are also looking for the woman and investigating if there is any relationship between them. “Detectives did talk to the two family members who were in the car,” said Baltimore City Police’s Jeremy Silbert. “Certainly, we can all imagine how distraught they were after witnessing something like that. Right now, we just hope someone in the community will come forward.”
Then here’s some real crap for you: A girl at Harvard is being ordered to move out of her apartment complex, not on campus, because her piece of crap roommates went through her stuff while she was away and found that she had some guns. Of course, these snowflakes freaked out and told the landlord. The landlord checked with the cops and found out that everything was in order legally speaking for her to have the guns, but he’s still telling her to get out because her roommates are awful people and are refusing to live with her. And get this—why did they go through her stuff in the first place? Because she’s from the south, and she owns a MAGA hat. Of course, the girl involved isn’t feeling that crap, but if she doesn’t leave, the other roommates say they will and she’ll have find other roommates or cover their rent. That’s some BS right there.
Aaaaand let’s head back to the caravan—that never-ending source of controversy and news. So, you know how they’re so poor and destitute and just looking for a better life? Ok, I’m sure that’s true of some of them, maybe a lot of them, but dang, they’re leaving behind a lot of trash too, and a good bit of it is trash from some pretty expensive items, which shows either that they’re not so poor as they want you to think, or this caravan has some rich backers, which would not be surprising in the least. The Tijuanans are sick of them, leaving their filth everywhere. And a lot of it is stuff that the natives of Tijuana can’t afford, whether it’s food or other items like bedding, tents, hiking sets, etc. Something is definitely fishy in all of this, is it not?
And sometimes people are just amazingly stupid, and sick, and disgusting. And sometimes people are just so scarred that it breaks your heart. This story has it all. A poor 19-year-old girl was apparently struggling with unemployment and problems with her boyfriend, and for whatever reason she didn’t think she could get past it. So what did she do? She went on Craigslist and HIRED A GUY TO KILL HER. She paid him to shoot her in the back of the head in a field near her house. The guy, 48-year-old Joseph Michael Lopez of Colorado, says he was getting cold feet when actually there in the field with her, but she convinced him to do it. They even prayed together before he shot her. This poor girl was obviously suffering, but this guy is a jackass and far worse than that. And also, she was rip-roarin’ high on heroin when it happened, which they found in her blood. Of course, her family is heart-broken and they’re seeking justice against this man, and may God grant that they find it.
And it seems like we’re heavy on the depressing news today. Apparently taxi drivers in NYC are having a hard time thanks to giants like Uber and Lyft who are crushing the smaller companies, and well, it’s leading cab drivers to suicide. These guys have been driving cab for decades, and are afraid they won’t even be able to pay for their basic necessities when they retire. And they’re struggling to even pay for their certificate allowing them to drive cabs. One driver commented: “When I hear that somebody did suicide, I was thinking about me. I’m going to be one of them one day.” There’re a number of personal stories here about people who lost friends, and there’s all the numbers you need to understand what’s going on, so check out this piece for the whole story.
Aaaand, let’s end this thing on another downer: “Nebraska Has Lost Over $1 Billion on Retaliatory Tariffs.” Nebraska farmers keep on losing money due to so-called “retaliatory tariffs” imposed by the federal government on steel and aluminum. The estimated amount is between $700 million and $1 billion this year alone. The total loss to the broader Nebraska economy was estimated as high as $1.2 billion, which is a significant hit to the state’s economy. Since Nebraska is one of the key agricultural states, the problems there could cause a crisis for the whole market, which is quite dangerous with winter is coming.
Well, all you fine lads and lasses, that’ll do ‘er for the night. We’re glad you stopped by, and don’t forget to check in tomorrow for another edition of our daily podcast to find out all the news you need to know.
