WASHINGTON D.C. – December 20, 2018

The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) took action today against the USA Really news agency and its chief editor Alexander Malkevich.

“USA Really, which is operated by Alexander Aleksandrovich Malkevich, engaged in efforts to post content focused on divisive political issues but is generally ridden with inaccuracies. In June 2018, USA Really attempted to hold a political rally in the United States, though its efforts were unsuccessful. As of June 2018, Malkevich was a member of Russia’s Civic Chamber commission on mass media, which serves in a consultative role to the Russian government. Based on this activity, USA Really was designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for being owned or controlled by the Federal News Agency LLC, while Malkevich was designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for having acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, USA Really,” OFAC’s press-release says.

USA Really’s Chief Accountant, Elena Alekseevna Khusyaynova was also designated by the Treasury as pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for having acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, Concord Management and Consulting LLC and Concord Catering.

In 2015, President Obama issued Executive Order 13694 declaring a national emergency to deal with the threat of hostile cyber activity against the United States.

The Executive Order authorized the Secretary of the Treasury “to impose sanctions on individuals or entities that engage in malicious cyber-enabled activities that create a significant threat to the national security, foreign policy, or economic health or financial stability of the United States.”

USA Really’s parent company, the Federal News Agency LLC, “were designated pursuant to E.O. 13694, as amended, for being owned or controlled by or having acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, Concord Management and Consulting LLC and Concord Catering,” said in OFAC’s statement.

The White House issued Executive Order 13694 on April Fools' Day when newspapers, magazines and other published media report fake stories. The OFAC is keeping in line with the Obama administration’s tradition and has published merely fake allegations against independent and honest news media outlets. No evidence or facts were provided, as usual.

US MSM stood up and applauded, hailing it as a loud and clear fight back in the “information war.”

On Oct. 19, Elena Khusyaynova, the Chief Accountant of the Federal News Agency and the USA Really News Agency was accused of conspiring against the United States, or conspiracy to defraud the United States--a federal offense in the United States of America under 18 USC. § 371. This happened right after Elena Khusyaynova made a bank transfer to Whiteford, Taylor and Preston, LLP, Washington, DC for representing the Federal News Agency in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. On October, 23 and November, 20, the Federal News Agency Inc. filed complaints against Facebook, Inc. after the removal of the news agency’s Facebook account from the platform in April, depriving it of its right to provide news to tens of thousands of followers.

However, “Every defendant is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law,” the Department of Justice acknowledged in the criminal complaint against Elena Khusyaynova.

In November, Alexander Malkevich was detained by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in Washington’s Dulles Airport. Malkevich was searched and illegally interrogated as an international criminal and all his electronic devices were scanned. At the end of this illegal detainment, Alexander Malkevich was literally ordered to register the USA Really news agency as “a foreign agent” under Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938.

The latest round of sanctions brings the total of Russian individuals and entities the Trump administration has sanctioned to 272 without even a shred of evidence.

This entire endless story is a part of McCarthyite practices, widely used by the FBI and the Department of Justice and Special Counsel Robert Mueller, tirelessly aiming to bring the “Red Scare” back to life once again.

In April 2018, one of the falsely accused Russian companies Concord Management and Consulting LLC hired Washington lawyers Eric Dubelier and Katherine Seikaly and mounted an aggressive defense, questioning the legitimacy of the charges lodged by Mueller.

On October 15th, during hearings in the U.S. District Court in Washington D.C., Mr. Mueller was blasted for veering away from Justice Department standards to find a way to bring charges against Russian defendants.

U.S. District Judge Friedrich has expressed doubts about Mr. Mueller’s unique prosecutorial adventure, though she has not said she will dismiss the charges, as Mr. Dubelier has requested. Instead, Judge Friedrich has sided with Mr. Mueller on restricting the sharing of prosecution evidence with Russian defendants.

On November 15, Friedrich predictably rejected Concord’s claim that the allegations didn’t amount to a crime. The ruling means that the Special Counsel’s office can proceed with the prosecution.

Over and over again, the corrupt U.S. judicial and prosecutorial system fails to provide any facts and evidence of any crime committed by USA Really and simply attacks it with reckless, unsubstantiated accusations against an independent and unbiased news agency.
