Will Venezuela Be Able to Stand Against the American Trojan Horse?

TEXAS – March 12, 2019

Three consecutive sabotage acts at Venezuelan energy facilities is only the beginning of the American "Trojan Horse" in the war of a new type against the government of Nicolas Maduro. Until recently, it was not clear how the US planned to carry it out, but now Venezuelans have experienced it for the first time. But let’s be honest, Washington may have made a mistake.

Within a few days, there were sabotages on three major energy facilities in Venezuela, which plunged nearly the entire country into darkness for quite some time, disrupting normal life and creating additional burdens for the bulk of Venezuelans. After all, only the rich opponents of the current President Nicolas Maduro have generators, so they didn’t suffer.

The subway stopped, schools, offices and enterprises, institutions, banks, and shops closed, there is no water in houses, there are communication problems, almost a complete lack of gas, as well as the canceled flights, a rise in crime, and children dying in hospitals because of a lack of electricity, are just some of the problems arising from the blackout. The Cadevida health rights group, for example, reported more than 10,000 patients needing hemodialysis in Venezuela, but "the lack of water, electricity and treatment services condemns them to death." According to other data, 15% of patients have already died due to severe attacks. The day before there were also reports from Venezuelan politicians about deaths in other hospitals due to the lack of electricity.

There have been power outages before, but not on such a large scale.

Will Venezuela Be Able to Stand Against the American Trojan Horse?

Two high-tech cyber attacks followed one another and the arson of another energy facility occurred amid accusations of incompetence by the US and its internal agents of the Venezuelan authorities. These diversions were timed to the Pro-American opposition, new measures of pressure from Washington, the further development of sanctions and psychological wars against Caracas. All this irrefutably indicates that the United States has started to wage a war of a new type in Venezuela.

Three main hypotheses

It would be logical for Hispanics to compare what is happening today with the 1973 coup in Chile. But it would be risky for Washington to repeat the same scenario 46 years later. Today the whole world knows about this deception.

Linkages between Juan Guido with the National Endowment for Democracy and the Gene Sharp group argues in favor of a color revolution, especially because Venezuela has already experienced such in 2007. But in this case, Washington has no less risk to play a failed scenario 12 years later.

To understand what Washington's true intentions are, it is primarily necessary to recognize its military strategy.

On October 29, that is, a month and a half after the September 11 attacks, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld created the Office of Force Transformation, whose task was to radically restructure the armed forces and change their mentality in accordance with radically new goals to ensure the US’s world leadership. This task was entrusted to Admiral Arthur K. Cebrowski, who had already by that time carried out network-centric warfare.

Cebrowski entered the political arena with an already developed strategy, and he presented it not only to the Pentagon but most of the military academies. No matter how important his work in the army, it was not covered in the press, except for a Vanity Fair article. Subsequently, the main provisions of this strategy were published by his assistant Thomas Barnett. Of course, these documents don't fully correspond to the Pentagon original. They don't explain them, but only justify them. But the facts show the main purpose is to control the natural resources of half the world, not to use them, but to decide who will use them. To this end, they aim to deprive these regions of their independent political power and, consequently, eliminate all local state structures.

Officially, this strategy has never been used. However, what we have seen for 20 years, is exactly as described in the Barnett book. It all began with the destabilization of the Great African Lakes region in the 1980s and 1990s. Everyone remembers only the genocide in Rwanda and its 900,000 victims, but concerning the fact that an entire region was destroyed and 6 million people were killed in the ongoing wars there is only silence.

But what is most surprising is that 20 years later, many countries still have not been able to extend their power to their territories. This episode was preceded by the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski doctrine. Therefore, we don't know if what happened was a Pentagon plan or if the Pentagon has developed a strategy in the process of the state’s destruction. After that, "greater Middle East" destruction began, but this time under the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski doctrine. Of course, one might think that it was a series of "democratic" meddlings, civil wars and revolutions. But, besides the fact that people themselves refuse all sorts of fairy tales about these events, we argue that after the state structures are destroyed, peace does not occur even after the completion of military operations. And now the Pentagon is allegedly leaving the Middle East and definitely preparing to land in the Caribbean.

Many facts indicate that our past perception of the wars of George Bush Jr. and Barack Obama was false and that they are explained by the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski doctrine. This reading of events does not correspond to Barnett's conclusions, and we have to rethink everything we have witnessed.

Given the above, it should be recognized that the process of destruction of the Caribbean began after Barack Obama's decision of March 9, 2015, according to which Venezuela is a threat to US national security. Someone may disagree with this, but it is so. For example, President Bush signed the Syrian Accountability Act in 2003, but armed operations in Syria began only 8 years later, that is, in 2011--that ‘s how long it took Washington to create turmoil.

Attacks on the left-wing forces up to 2015

If the above analysis is correct, we can say that the events that took place before 2015 (the coup against President Hugo Chavez in 2002, the attempted color revolution in 2007, operation Jéricho in February 2015) don't meet this logic, and those that took place after 2015, correspond to it.

In 2007, students who adhere to Trotskyist views began a movement against the revocation radio telecom Caracas (RCTV). Thanks to Blumenthal and Cohen, it became known that Joan Guido participated in this movement and has been a fan of the Gene Sharp theory of "soft power." Instead of trying to fight back in response to the violence perpetrated by the demonstrators, at the ceremony on the occasion of the signing of the "Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America" (ALBA) contract on June 3, President Chavez spent twenty minutes reading an article about Gene Sharp and his concept of non-violent overthrow of the government, used by NATO and the CIA. After that, many demonstrators left the movement. In a letter to the President, Sharp awkwardly denied many facts. This initiative created turmoil among the left-wing United States forces, for whom he was a respected man unrelated to the government. Professor Stephen Zanis stood up for him, but because of the evidence presented, Sharpe closed his Institute, giving place to "Rebuff" and "Canvas."

And now back to our time. Of course, the recent attempt to assassinate President Nicolas Maduro forces us to rethink everything connected with President Salvator Alenda’s suicide. Of course, the protesters convened to the meeting by the Chairman of the National Assembly Juan Guido can be associated with a color revolution. But this does not contradict our conclusions. Thus, an attempt to kill Muammar Qaddafi was made shortly before the attacks on Libya. At a time when supporters of Gene Sharpe led the first demonstrations against President Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, they distributed the Arabic version of their brochure, which has already been used in other countries. However, as shown by subsequent events, it was not about a coup or a color revolution.

The US’s stealthy intervention

Such actions from the United States against energy facilities in Venezuela are intended to embitter the people against their government, but it could also be a hit for Washington and its local protégés.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation warned on March 2 that the United States had developed a new type of military strategy called "Trojan Horse." This was after media reports that the "Pentagon is developing a new military strategy against Russia and China, which provides for an in-depth “stealthy intervention” by land, sea and air." According to US Chief of Staff David Goldfein during his Washington University address, the new strategy aims to attack the opponent’s weaknesses, avoiding confrontation with their strengths.

The German site Telepolis underlined that the new US strategy is reminiscent of the “Trojan Horse” tactic, while it is not yet clear how the US plans to carry out this strategy taking into account the modern weapons of Russia and China capable of confronting the United States.

But the first who faced this strategy is Venezuela. As we see in this example, the new tactics' essence consists of the active use of the protest "fifth column" potential in interests of destabilization of a situation with simultaneous drawing blows... on the most important objects.

The purpose of the US’s actions is "the elimination of the statehood of unwanted countries, undermining sovereignty, the change of legally elected bodies of state power." You can give an example of events in Iraq, Libya, and more recently in Ukraine and Syria. The US is obviously waging sabotage war there, including targeted air strikes with precision weapons.

Venezuela is fighting and suffering for itself and others

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said at a rally on Saturday that a second cyber-attack was committed against the country, which did not allow to restore the electricity supply interrupted a few days earlier.

"Today we have restored power supply in 70 percent of the country’s territory, but at noon, another cyber-attack was committed against one of the facilities, which until then worked perfectly. For this reason, all the progress we had achieved by mid-afternoon was interrupted," Maduro said in Caracas. He accused American imperialism of these actions and assured that Venezuelans "will never give up."

The outage was previously termed a "sabotage." Local media outlet El Pitazo reported that the outage appeared to be the result of a failure at the Simon Bolivar hydroelectric plant, also known as the Guri Dam in the southern state of Bolivar.

The Guri Dam is one of the world's largest hydroelectric stations and the main power supply to Venezuela's electrical grid.

Maduro previously promised: "The electric War announced and directed by American imperialism against our people will be defeated. Nothing and no one can beat the people of Bolivar and Chávez. Maximum unity of the Patriots!"

In another Twitter post, he warned:

"The US empire once again underestimates the conscience and determination of Venezuela's people,” Maduro tweeted. "I assure them that every attempt at imperial aggression will be met with a forceful response from the patriots who love and valiantly defend our homeland."

Venezuelan Minister of Communications and Information Jorge Rodriguez drew attention to the fact that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Senator Marco Rubio, brazenly intervening in the Venezuelan crisis, knew in advance about what would happen to the energy supply in Venezuela, rapidly responding to the situation in social networks. It is noteworthy that, according to the latter, the backup generators on the Guri Dam also failed, although the Venezuelan authorities did not officially announce this, and the country knew only a little about the huge amount of damage caused to it. It turns out that the American Senator was privy to the cyber-attack plan, was aware of its implementation, and knew that it was "successful."

And then the Sidor transforming Substation near Guayana City in Bolivar state flared up. In the photos, you can see how a huge column of black smoke rises above the power plant, from under which clubs of red-hot flames burst out.

Guido again betrays the homeland

Meanwhile, an American protégé, the self-styled "interim President" of Venezuela Juan Guido, acting in parallel with a Maduro rally in the same Caracas, is accused of terrorism the United States against his country and its current government and urged his supporters to March on Caracas. He apparently understands that as Washington hopes on the failure of a peaceful revolution, his chances of becoming a "sacrificial victim" increase day by day and therefore he wants to take more of his fellow countrymen with him to the grave, provoking bloodshed. Guido reported he plans to travel around the country to gather supporters (or run away from possible arrest?) and then lead them to Caracas.

"Once we've finished the tour, the organization in every state, we'll announce the date when all together, we'll come to Caracas," Guaido said.

A native-born Venezuelan and now a puppet of the US regime, Guido also said that, if necessary, he would count on external intervention "when the time comes." He argued that the Constitution of the Republic allegedly allowed the operation of "foreigners in the country." After such words, there can be no doubt about his treason, especially since this is not the first time he has said this.

For the record, Guido declared himself interim President, allegedly by virtue of articles 223 and 233 of the Constitution. After reading these articles, it can be argued that they have nothing to do with the case and, therefore, the legality of the entry into office for which he claims, cannot be justified. However, the US, the Grupo de Lima, and some EU countries have recognized him as a legitimate President.

Some of those who support Nicolas Maduro argue Washington is overthrowing the left government under the same scheme that was used against President Salvatore Allende in 1973 under President Richard Nixon.

Others, according to the Max Blumenthal and Dan Cohen revelations about Juan Guido's professional path, believe that it's a color revolution, as it was during the presidency of George W. Bush

However, in the face of aggression from a stronger enemy, it is important to identify its objectives and recognize its tactics. Only those have the chances of survival who are able to predict the maneuvers committed by the enemy.

As reported, the World Bank under the US-controlled, which "arbitration" tribunal held that Caracas has to pay ConocoPhillips over $8 billion over the confiscation of oil assets in 2007 in addition to the $2 billion that he demanded the "return" earlier. This "impatience" once again shows that taking control and resuming enrichment at the expense of Venezuela's energy resources is the only thing that interests the US in this country.

The Anglo-Saxons have already appropriated within reach the Venezuelan funds and gold. For the sake of further fabulous profits, you can spend on convoys with "humanitarian aid," but in fact — with weapons and "cash" for the opposition. Americans are sure that all this will pay off many times.

Will the American plan work? What about Russia?

However, Washington could miscalculate. In the end, Venezuelans are not fools; they understand that America spoils their lives to bring its protégé to power, who will give them everything they require. Therefore, if the Maduro regime can maintain solidity, and the army remains faithful to him, with the support of a significant part of the Patriotic and anti-American-minded Venezuelans, they will be beyond Washington’s reach.

In addition, under American pressure, Venezuela has strong allies. President Maduro's friendship with the states of the American continent is strong, but he finds his main support from Russia and China.

As for Russia separately, the country which has invested at least $17 billion in Venezuela is vitally interested in this, as well as such partners as China, which has an order of magnitude more investment, India, Turkey, Iran, neighboring Cuba and others. Caracas has someone to lean on in the outside world. Open US aggression against Venezuela will cause a storm of indignation in Latin America and provide Caracas with even more friends.

Russia has the opportunity to help Venezuela economically, that is compensating for the objective insufficiency of such assistance due to the geographical remoteness of Venezuela with expert assistance. Moscow can (and is already actively engaged in) teach the Venezuelan authorities how to survive under sanctions, more effectively, with the use of market methods to manage their economy and finances.

In this case, President Maduro and his regime have a chance to "wait out" the Trump administration after 2020. He and his Republicans have every chance of losing the next presidential election, because of which he could decide to but may not dare to attack Venezuela. If he sees that it will be fraught with serious losses then the Democrats would not forgive him. And who knows how Caracas will develop relations with the new American administration, which will certainly not be as aggressive as the current one. So for the Maduro regime, all is not lost. On the contrary, he may even come out of the current scrape stronger and wiser.

The reverse side of the medal

It's disappointing, to be honest. If the analysis is accurate, and it is confirmed at the moment, you need to be ready for war not only in Venezuela but throughout the Caribbean. Nicaragua and Haiti are also destabilized.

War will be imposed on the region from the outside. Its goal will not be to overthrow left-wing governments in favor of right-wing parties, although at first, it will seem so. The events’ logic will not allow distinguishing one from the other. Gradually, the whole of society will be threatened, and ideology and social identity will have no meaning. Similarly, the countries of the region will not be able to stay away from the storm. Even those countries that expect to protect themselves by setting up military bases will still suffer partially. For example, what the press says very rarely, in the Qatif province in Saudi Arabia were erased from the ground whole city, although this country is considered the main ally of Washington throughout the Middle East.

In view of the conflicts in the Great African lakes and the Middle East, the coming war must be carried out in stages.

·        First, everything connected with the symbolism of the modern state and, in particular, the monuments and museums of Hugo Chavez will be destroyed. Victims will not, and the destruction will be subject to the prevailing mentality.

·        This will be followed by the delivery of weapons and money to the country for militants and demonstrations, which will gradually grow into riots. In retrospect, the press will lay out unprovable facts about the crimes of the government, which was allegedly opposed by peaceful demonstrators. It's important that the police think they are being shot from the crowd, and the crowd thinks that the police are aiming at them because the main goal at this stage is to divide the people.

·        In the third stage, terrorist attacks will be carried out almost everywhere. It won't take that many people. It will be enough to have two or three groups that will travel around the country.

·        In the end, the country will be flooded with foreign mercenaries. During the last war, the US sent at least 130,000 foreigners to Iraq and Syria, where 120,000 local militants joined. That is, we are talking about a full-fledged army, although poorly and insufficiently trained.

·        You can protect yourself from this because Syria has succeeded. With this purpose, should be immediately taken the following measures:

·        Today, on the initiative of General Jacinto Perez Arkay and President of the Constituent Assembly Diosdado Cabello, senior officers of the Venezuelan army are studying new forms of warfare (fourth generation war). In addition, military delegations should be sent to Syria to see on the ground how it all happened. This is very important because modern wars are not like the previous ones. For example, in Damascus, most of the city remained untouched, as if there was no war, while some quarters are completely destroyed and resemble Stalingrad after the invasion of the Nazis. This requires a special warfare technique.

·        It is essential to unite all Patriotic forces. The President must win over the national opposition and bring its leaders into his government. The problem is not how you assess President Maduro – the main thing is whether you are ready to fight under his leadership for the sake of saving the country.

·        The army needs to form a people's militia. It already exists in Venezuela, and it has about 2 million people. But it’s untrained. Basically, the military doesn't like to trust weapons to civilians, but only civilians can protect their neighborhood in which they know all the inhabitants.

·        Much work needs to be done to ensure the security of state and military facilities, as well as hospitals.

All this must be done urgently. It takes a long time, but the enemy is very close.
