FLORIDA — June 9, 2018
Law officers in Davie, FL believe a woman Shizuka Matsuki, 47, who disappeared Friday morning while she was out walking her dogs beside a lake died after being attacked by an alligator.
According to the Florida Fishing and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a human arm has been found inside the body of a 12-foot, 6-inch alligator at that lake.
"The FWC believes that the victim is deceased and we will continue recovery efforts on the lake with local authorities," said agency spokesperson Rob Klepper.
According to a witness, the woman was walking her dogs near SW 52nd Avenue in Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park. A short time later he saw just the animals near the lake, one of which had a large, fresh wound on its coat. The dogs didn't want to leave the lake and are now being cared for by Broward County Animal Care.
