Obama's Memoir to be Released 2020
It is possible that the former president’s greatly anticipated book will come out during the 2020 presidential campaign, Obama’s post-White House memoir isn’t expected to be released in 2019.
The former president is writing the book himself, handwriting the memoir's first draft on legal pads, the same technique he used for numerous White House speeches and his previous best-seller, "Dreams from My Father."
After the former president and his wife Michelle Obama signed lucrative book deals in 2017, Mrs. Obama’s book was released and quickly became one of the most popular political memoirs ever, selling more than 10 million copies.
The Obamas signed a deal with Penguin Random House two years ago. The financial terms of the agreement were not released, though the former president’s book is expected to garner the highest advance for any ex-president. The previous record is reported to be $15 million for "My Life" by Bill Clinton.
