Iraq Is Not Going To Be An American Springboard For Attacks On Iran

Baghdad will not allow Washington to use its military bases to carry out the attacks on Iran, President of Iraq Barham Salih stressed ripping Donald's Trump warmongering policies against the Islamic Republic.

“We do not want our territory to be a staging post for any hostile action against any of our neighbors, including Iran.”

Salih also underlined that there is no any agreement between Baghdad and Washington that could let Trump think that he can use its bases on his own accord.

It also should be remembered that there are still around 5, 000 U.S. soldiers remaining in Iraq, as it was said by Trump, to keep a close "watch" on Iran. In the meantime, Trump said that he would not use Iraq's bases as springboard for launching attacks on Iran, the intensifying situation and the US, vengeance-minded against Islamic Republic, could see all Americans assets in the region drawn into the confrontation which sooner or later could erupt into large-scale conflict.

However, Trump threatened Iran with a total "obliteration" Tuesday, if it again attacks "anything American".

Although President admitted that he doesn't have an exit strategy if he decides to throw down the glove and after all go to war.

"You’re not going to need an exit strategy. I don’t do exit strategies."

On the flip side Salih recalled American's bitter experience when they invaded his country and reminded Washington that "it is quick to start a war without thinking of potential consequences."
