JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — June 18, 2018
Florida zoo staff returned Michael Jackson’s former elephant back into his enclosure.
Ali, the sweet-natured bull elephant who came to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens in 1997 from Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, briefly escaped his enclosure early Sunday. He wandered through a gate that was accidentally left open and wound up in a courtyard.
According to zoo officials, guests were never in danger. Nevertheless safety protocols were put into place, and Zoo staff sprung into action to get him back where he belonged. They used food to entice the elephant back into the enclosure. Ali was loose for about 20 minutes.
