The court ruled that taxpayers are required to pay for transgender surgery for a child rapist
31-year-old Adree Edmo is a convicted felon for raping a minor child. In addition to his accusations, the pedophile decided to change his gender while in prison.
The Idaho Prison gave a clear negative answer to such a request, but Edmo was unhappy with this decision and went to court. Surprisingly, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals of the United States sided with the perpetrator, while the judge emphasized that the refusal of this operation is “unconstitutional” and “cruel.”
Idaho Governor, Republican Brad Little is about to appeal the decision to the US Supreme Court.
"The hardworking taxpayers of Idaho should not be forced to pay for a convicted sex offender's gender reassignment surgery when it is contrary to the medical opinions of the treating physician and multiple mental health professionals," stated Little.
The plaintiff’s lawyer, Lori Rifkin, in her lawsuit stated that the pedophile had gender dysphoria, which entailed physical self-torture and twice the plaintiff tried to cut off his testicles. According to the lawyer, the prison authorities are too biased towards prisoners and cannot discern the real problem.
