Three Men Are Killed in Broad Daylight in the Bronx

CASTLE HILLl, BRONX — June 22, 2018

An armed man shot a  several people outside a stationary store on Castle Hill Avenue in the Bronx.

According to police, among the victims were Mustafa Tarver, 33, Christopher Alleyne, also 33, and Arileida Jiminez, 45.

The victims were standing near a store, when an unidentified man walked up and started to shoot. One of the victims was shot in the torso; two others were shot in the head.

Witnesses attempted to provide medical assistance to the victims, while they were waiting for an ambulance. The injured victims were taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and pronounced dead on arrival.

Police describe the suspect as a heavyset man who was wearing dark clothing. They say he ran off toward Randall Avenue after the shooting. The state police are canvassing the area, and have pulled surveillance video of the incident.

Castle Hill residents said that they afraid once again of being out on the streets after dark, together with concern about reprisals after this incident.

Earlier the police and community leaders had announced greatly reduced rates of violent crime in the area.
