Crowd Chants Police Death Calls after One cop Injured in Gunfire
New York, September 17 - During an attempted arrest of a suspect, an habitual criminal opened fire on police officers. 39-year-old Gregory Edwards, who shot at law enforcement officers, was killed, and one policeman was injured during the operation.
According to police officers, eyewitnesses to the shootout, watching one of the officers bleed, shouted insults and wished the officers died.
According to official information, Edwards, a previously convicted felon, was arrested 16 times. This time, the police department received a report of alleged domestic violence in which a murdered gunner was suspected.
According to NewYorkPost, an aggressive group of onlookers who gathered after the shooting violently insulted law enforcement officials by shouting “Suck my d – k! Everybody behind that line can suck my d – k! ”.
Several people chased the police, and one from the crowd even said, “All of y’all can die!”
Many officers associate the growing disrespect for the police with the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio.
“Somebody’s shooting at a police officer and nobody cares. … They’re more concerned about the perp than the cop who’s there to protect them. You call the police to do a job, a cop gets shot, but they’re upset that a guy who was shooting a cop is dead.” Said one of the police officers, according to NewYorkPost.
