China Foreign Office and internet users criticize the U.S. interference in Hong Kong protests

159

Commissariat of P.R. China Foreign Office published a claim saying the authorities of U.S.A. and UK incite the participants of the riots in Hong Kong, special administrative region of China. The incitement is also confirmed by average residents of the continental China, who had the encounters with the radicals.

The Federal News Agency’s correspondent who now highlights the events in Hong Kong shared the information about the riots preparations from the site. So, according to his reports, during the recent riots in Hong Kong the protestors again used the American and British flags to demonstrate their empathy and to point at the patronage from these countries.

While preparing the riots, the protestors were supplied with gasmasks, masks, spray paint for acts of vandalism, posters and flyers. The orators literally pumped the crowd with the hate towards the continental Chinese people and also urged the demonstrators to the acts of disobedience and aggression. The preparations were all the way accompanied by the chants: “USA is with us!”, “Trump will help and protect us!”, “NATO will punish China”, etc.

Many internet users, including Reddit residents have already commented on the riots and many of the comments say that it’s the Western media that hushes up the problem is responsible for the rampant violence by the protestors.

And, of course, there is a huge number of posts in which the users express their opinion about the causes of the conflict, who receives profit from the protests and how US and UK support and ignite the protests. Most are inclined to the idea that user Palladium1987 expressed in his message:

“The HK is the last card the Anglos ca pull against China right now before their own economies implode at a scale greater than 2008.”

“The HK/Western media is complicit in this violence.” Reddit user nicknamed C45 writes. “These mobs have been assaulting others for “incorrect” political speech for god knows how long and not a single case has been highlighted or written about how this is unacceptable. Just endless excuses and whitewashing of this bigotry, terror tactics and violence.”

Another post testifying to the bias of Western media and social networks posted by bayarea415:

“Reddit’s Western hypocrisy: Post of US cop pulling guns on protestors gets less than 100 upvotes and first comment “needs more proof.” Post of HK cops pulling guns gets 38 thousand of upvotes and first comment condemns them.”

User LiveForPanda believes that CIA is behind all the propaganda.

“I suspect there is bots manipulating all these numbers. HK related articles are disproportionally exaggerated. There is accounts that run anti-China propaganda on major subreddits 24/4. It wouldn’t be surprising if NSA or CIA is behind these propaganda campaign.”

The people who want the rioters’ dead are Americans, the user C45 adds, and the protest leaders who want martyrs for the “cause”.

“If you want to be a tool of these people who see use as subhuman trash that need to die for their propaganda campaign the bare minimum you can do is be honest about it and tell the world that you value yourself and your city so little.”

And people also left some sarcastic comments under the posts where the protestors’ claims the US president Donald Trump and the UK Government to start the economic sanctions against Chinese officials and Hong Kong itself are discussed.

The user ATW10C posted the video showing the protestors gather outside the British consulate demanding the full citizenship and to get British passports.

As the FAN previously reported, protests in Hong Kong began in the summer of 2019 after discussing an extradition bill that would allow the extradition of suspected Hong Kong residents to mainland China.
