Scientist and Father of Two Young Girls Killed in Malibu Creek State Park

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — June 27, 2018

According to police, the victim is identified as 35-year-old Tristan Beaudette of Irvine, California.

At present there are no leads as to the cause of the shooting. It is known that the incident occurred when Beaudette was camping. Beaudette’s body was found bleeding in his tent.

Police officers have canvassed the area, and now, but at the moment, there are no suspects.

Deputies also said they have no suspect and no motive.

Beaudette left a wife, Erica, and two little daughters, aged 2 and 4.

Family's friend said Beaudette took the girls camping with him. His wife stayed at home.

Also it is known the victim was a successful scientist who worked for a pharmaceutical company, he had a PhD in chemistry from UC Berkeley. His wife is a doctor.

The incident was quite shocking to many people, including fellow campers.

“It’s pretty secluded,” said one woman, “it’s pretty spread out. It’s pretty quiet. I wouldn’t expect something [like this] to happen.”
