Border guards detained a truck carrying 32 illegal immigrants in Arizona
Another attempt to smuggle people across the border led to the arrest of 33 people. 32 illegal immigrants, including minor children and the elderly, and a driver were arrested near Tucson.
Agents report that this method of smuggling people is very popular and this case is not an isolated one. As the truck approached the security checkpoint, border guards discovered several suspicious things.
Refrigerators were checked by X-ray and then opened. The temperature inside was critically low, which could lead to frostbite, injury or even death, given that the refugees were very lightly dressed.
According to agents, smugglers planned to land people immediately after passing customs. The youngest illegal immigrant was less than 17 years old, and the oldest about 50, among them were women.
It is reported that the driver was charged with smuggling people.
