Donald Trump Is Batman, Here’s Why
WICHITA, KANSAS — 30 June, 2018
The Peace and Social Justice Center of South Kansas and ICTindivisible are gathering in Wichita, Kansas, on July 1st to protest against the Trump administration’s “barbaric policies” with ‘heavy hearts’ and calls upon you “to join their vigil to grieve with and for all the children who have been so callously ripped from their parents arms.”
“Children should never be a means to an end. They should never be political pawns. They should never be forcibly remove from their parents care just because those parents dared to save their children from unspeakable violence and poverty.”
We totally agree with the message that children should never be political pawns. There should only be one time, when a family should be separated: when a child’s life is in danger.
Daniel, from the Peace and Social Justice Center, commented on this action to USA Really: “It’s really just a vigil. We’re going to meet near ICE detention center. Everybody is going to bring stuffed animals for the children,” said Daniel. “I’m not sure what else will be going on at that event, since I’m not the one, who’s actually organized or take any part in the event.”
We asked him if there is still any point in the event after President Trump signed an executive order to end migrant family separation at border.
After a long sigh, he said “Looking at how we treated immigrants in the past, I think there’s always a point. The points are our own actions and holding those in authority accountable for their action. So I think there’s always a point.”
We agree with Daniel that this is not how human beings should be treated. The question is why there wasn’t such a reaction when Barack Obama was president. Donald Trump becoming the President of the US, on the other hand, caused a massive public outcry about many issues that had previously been ignored by the mainstream media.
No one cared about poor children who were separated from their parents for years before Trump was elected president. The fact is that Trump, with all his pros and cons, is now the President. The problem of immigrant children in detention centers surfaced, and Trump solved it. That’s it. He’s like Batman.
Once more, there was a problem that had lingered for years which previous presidents had failed to face. And, in spite of being hated by so many people, including the press, Trump found a way to solve it. It is seemingly unbelievable, but true.
We reached out to ICTindivisible, who is one of the organizers of the event. Unfortunately they did not respond to our inquiries. We asked them the same question, namely: What is the point of the action now that Trump has signed an executive order to end migrant family separation at border? We also asked about the history of such events in support of immigrant children. We suggested that they send us their view of the problem, so we could share it with our readers. Unfortunately, they did not respond to our inquiries.
Their webpage, however, proudly states the following: “Our mission is to fuel a progressive grassroots network of local groups to resist the Trump Agenda. In every congressional district in the country, people like you are starting local groups and leading local actions. Are you standing indivisible with us? Then sign up for weekly actions and updates.”
Once again, it is important to note that Trump signed an executive order to stop the suffering of immigrant children. Again, the simple fact is that he solved the problem, and this is not the first time he has done so either. The unemployment rate is now at record low of 3.7% compared to the more than 9% rate seen during the Obama administration Trump also took the first step toward denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, something Barack Obama could not even dream of doing.
ICTindivisible is, for some reason, trying to resist the Trump Agenda. It appears they want children to suffer to help them push their own anti-Trump agenda. Here are their own words: “Children should never be a means to an end. They should never be political pawns.” If you believe in this statement so strongly, than maybe they should try living by it, instead of just shouting about it, impotently, from the street corner.
Maybe they just don’t like that Americans are currently experiencing the lowest unemployment rate they’ve had in years?
Or maybe they just don’t want peace and denuclearization in North Korea? Should Seoul become a second Hiroshima or Nagasaki? Trump made a positive step towards a more peaceful world, who can possibly be against that?
Trump has solved a lot of extremely difficult problems and still managed to fulfill his elections promises. He’s like Batman: a hardcore hero till the end.
