A male police officer touches the handcuffed woman’s breasts and nether regions Chief of Police consider this as “absolutely professional”
The video from the bodycamera of a police officer from Raleigh, North Carolina clearly shows how he “paws” a woman handcuffed. While long-standing officers and lawyers unanimously claim that this is a sexual assault, the Police Chief says that everything is within the law.
On September 25th, the victim was detained by several police officers on suspicion of drunk driving. Everything happened at one of the local gas stations. The woman’s name is not disclosed.
The record shows that she was taken out of the car and while two other officers stepped aside, the third, who was identified as Officer K.E. Van Althius, unceremoniously, touches and shakes a woman's breasts, then turns her backside and strokes her buttocks before running hand between the legs of the suspect.
It is evident that the girl is wearing only a tight-fitting T-shirt and shorts that make sure that there are no dangerous objects even when visually inspected, but Althius was "power-drunk" and decided to conduct an in-depth search.
Raleigh Chief of Police Cassandra Deck-Brown, endorsed this approach to the performance of his duties and defended the officer, calling the search “valid”. Deck-Brown also explained that they specifically train all officers to conduct just this kind of search.
Under the wing Chief of Police, Officer K.E. Van Althius has not been suspended.
