2 people dead after red Porsche crashes into the second story of a building in New Jersey
Sunday morning began with a lethal crash when the speeding car with two people inside flew into the second story of a building in New Jersey. Both are dead.
The accident happened on Hooper Avenue between Indian Hill Road and College Drive around 6:30 a.m. The area was shut down for about seven hours.
According to the police reports, a red Porsche Boxster convertible lost control “traveling at a high rate of speed” and hit median. Then it crash-landed into the second-story building which is Exit Realty Elite offices. Luckily enough there were nobody inside at the time when the Porsche crashed through the walls, according to the owner of the building.
Police say that behind the steering wheel was 22-year-old Branden DeMartin. Both he and his passenger, 23-year-old Daniel Foley, were pronounced dead at the scene. The two are believed to have been the only occupants of the vehicle.
The building, which the real estate agency shares with a software company and a family therapist, has been deemed "unsafe," police said.
The crash is currently under investigation by Toms River Traffic Safety officers.
