Police investigate animal abuse after receiving a video where the cruel owner pulls a horse tied to a truck
A nightmarish video has spread all over the internet, on which a helpless horse tied to a car tries in vain to resist while a cruel driver presses an accelerator.
The female owner of the trigger later gave an interview to CBS Denver, in which she said that she regrets the deed.
"I've lost my job over this, I've upset a lot of people. I made our horse go through something that he shouldn't have. I was wrong," she said, she also asked to remain anonymous.
But her words are contrary to what really happened. The woman who shot this video clearly says that the "horse refused to leave the ranch" and therefore was punished. All her apologies are just an excuse to mitigate the impending punishment.
Redditor "dissident07" provided a link to a longer version of the video on which the cameraman laughs during Trigger’s brutal punishment.
This high-profile case will be a real test for the recently enacted The Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, signed by Donald Trump. According to official information, this happened in Grand County, Colorado. An alarming video was uploaded to Facebook this Sunday.
A horse named Trigger was taken to a veterinary clinic for examination. Along with the evacuation of the animal, the Grand County Sheriff's Office initiated an investigation into the brutal owner.
The video, in which an animal is dragged about 100 meters along a snowy road, clearly demonstrates how helpless the animals are in front of humans.
Sheriff Brett Schroetlin said that the investigation goes at full drive, but indicated that it will take some time.
"We need to do our part of the investigation which sometimes takes a little bit longer than what the community is hoping," sheriff said.
Some commentators suggested that the owner of the horse be tied to a truck and also dragged along the road.
