Kentucky Residents Are About to Be Hit With New Taxes
FRANKFORT, KY – July 5, 2018.
Beginning on July 1st, Kentucky residents will pay several new kinds of taxes, which were added to the books by House Bill 487, passed by the state's General Assembly.
Included among the provisions of the bill are a 6 % tax for extended warranty services, non-medical diet and weight-reducing services, veterinary services for dogs and cats, laundry and dry cleaning, landscape services and facility-event admission fees.
Despite the fact these taxes will bring in as much as $192 million dollars for the state, many residents are concerned about it and think that this decision might actually worsen their quality of life.
