Unusual "weather elements" puzzled Florida residents: Iguanas falling from the sky

207

Due to the sharp decrease in air temperature in Miami, many residents observed reptiles falling from the sky, sometimes people found numb iguanas in their yards and on the roads. As it turned out, this is a kind of nocifensor. When the animal feels cold, it hibernates in anticipation of a warm period.

The National Weather Service of Miami yesterday reported possible "live" rains.

“This isn't something we usually forecast, but don't be surprised if you see Iguanas falling from the trees tonight as lows drop into the 30s and 40s. Brrrr!”

Many Miami residents found stiff bodies of animals and shared findings on social media.

“Yesterday, there was news no one believed...iguanas falling out of the sky due to cold temperatures,” FoxNews multimedia reporter Elina Shirazi wrote.

Here's another “sleeping” iguana from Hawaii.

Some people try to help reptiles and cover the iguana with a blanket in the hope that they will thaw out.

“South Florida is waking up to cold temperatures and iguanas falling from the sky. Might as well make him comfy with blankie and hat while he thaws out,” reported by Lori Bale.

Whitney Leon also rescued several iguanas from her pets, taking them away from home.

“Greeted on this crazy-cold day with fallen iguanas. (I relocated them to the front so they didn’t become dog treats).”
