African-American Tased in the Back, Police Say It Wasn’t About the Race
LANCASTER, PA – July 6, 2018
Another potentially racially motivated incident involving police occurred in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
27-year-old unarmed African-American Sean Williams was tased in the back, causing outrage in the community.
Speaking about the incident, Williams himself said, "Nobody should be tased in the back in a situation where they're not doing anything wrong. If they're following every directive that's being given to them, there's no reason that somebody should get stunned in the back to the point where they could be traumatized for the rest of their life."
Police later learned Williams had an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness. He was later released on $5,000 bail.
