Before terminating a pregnancy in Florida minors will be required to obtain parental consent
Last week, Florida Senate voted for another controversial bill that would oblige people under the age of 18 to get permission from their parents or guardians before an abortion.
The Florida Senate voted 23-17 last Thursday. Now, SB 404 has to be approved by the Florida House of Representatives. If the law finds support there, then doctors will not be able to stop the pregnancy in minors without parental consent.
But every rule should have an exception. In this case, those teenagers who already have children or have health problems will be able to independently manage their bodies.
"We need to figure out how we turn this around and how we focus on life, because it is undeniable that an abortion ends a life, a life that has a purpose for this world," said State Representative Erin Grall, according to Fox 4 Now.
