Washington man faces 15 years in prison after he was caught on plane texting about molesting children
A Washington man was spotted on the plane texting disturbing massages describing him molesting children arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
58-year-old Michael Kellar was texting his 52-year-old girlfriend Gail Lynn Burnworth while on plane flying to San Jose. It happened in 2017. And his fellow passenger involved herself in the case when she saw the massages content.
The massages which were saying about how Kellar used Benadryl to drug and rape two of the three children, ages 5 and 7, living with Burnworth, were written with a large font so the alert passenger cound make a photo of them on her smartphone.
Then the flier reported of what she spotted on Kellara’s phone to the flight attendants, who informed the San Diego police.
When the plane landed the cops had already been waiting for the molester. Kellar was questioned and arrested. There is no information about whether Burnworth is charged with any counts of felony.
“I commend the airline passenger who spoke up about the disturbing texts she witnessed on her flight,” US Attorney Brian T. Moran said in a statement. “We all have had that moment when we question: ‘Do I get involved.’”
