Kidnapped more than half a century ago a man returns to his mother
Two days ago, a 60-year-old man crossed the threshold of his first home, from which he was stolen 55 years ago by a caregiver while his biological mother was at work.
Named Jerry Barnett at birth, he reunited with his long-lost mother Anna-Mary Barnett this Friday. As the mother said, back in 1965, she herself was still a teenager and one day left her little son with her nanny, but she could not find either the nanny or her son when she returned.
As it turned out, later, the kidnapper moved with the child to Delaware and already left the child there. After some time, the child was adopted by another family and received the last name Thomas. Just four years ago, the son of Barnett-Thomas, Damon Parker did a DNA test, but he did not suspect that he would find his long-lost grandmother and the past of his father.
After a lengthy search, Jerry discovered that his mother lives in Radcliff, Ky., WLKY-TV reported. He immediately moved toward her.
“I was scared to get out the car," Jerry Barnett said. "There was a mob. I thought somebody was going to kidnap me again.”
