NHC: Chris to Become Hurricane on Tuesday

NORTH CAROLINA — July 10, 2018

The tropical storm Chris is about 200 miles south-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina with maximum sustained winds of 70 miles per hour. NHC expects Chris to gain additional strength on Wednesday.

“Chris beginning to move northeastward… Expected to become a hurricane today,” says NHC.

In a Tropical storm – wind speeds are between 39 mph and 73 mph.

In a Hurricane wind speeds reach between 74 mph and 110 mph.
