Pennsylvania Official Associates Coronavirus Epidemic with Fall from Grace and Announces Resolution as "State Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer"
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which covered not only the United States completely, but the whole world, Pennsylvania Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R) decided it was time to announce March 30th as “A State Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer”, because in her opinion “the awful calamity of the pandemic ... may be but a punishment inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins.”
Christians began to become notorious as soon as they decided not to cancel the meetings, despite the fact that the parishes of all churches are infected with a coronavirus every day. Moreover, the churches literally took up arms against the decrees of governors and mayors prohibiting them from leaving their homes because of the deadly virus.
“It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness,” it reads. “With assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history: that those nations are only blessed whose God is the Lord.”
Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Jonathan Lai posted the full text of the resolution.
