NY Central Park Converted to Coronavirus Victim Mobile Hospital
At the moment, large-scale work is underway in the central park to build a field hospital for those infected with coronavirus. According to official information, the hospital will be able to provide beds for up to 70 people.
Construction began on Sunday morning and is expected to be completed on Tuesday.
"Workers with the North Carolina based Christian organization Samaritan’s Purse began constructing a 68-bed emergency field hospital across from Mount Sinai Hospital," reports NY1.
To date, the number of health workers who will work there is unknown, but according to local authorities, staff will rotating.
Construction work is ongoing around the clock. Such emergency measures were taken due to the rapid increase in the number of infected and deaths.
As of today, the number of coronavirus infected has reached the mark of 40 thousand people, of which more than 726 have already died, reports TODAY.
