The train driver in LA crashed the train because he wanted to ram USNS Mercy on it
The FBI accuses the train engineer of deliberate derailing of the train. According to the prosecutors, the man believes that USNS Mercy "was suspicious and did not believe 'the ship is what they say it's for,'" reports NBC News.
"He allegedly made statements to a CHP officer that included "You only get this chance once. The whole world is watching. I had to. People don't know what's going on here. Now they will,"" reports abc7.
The incident occurred on Tuesday. 44-year-old Eduardo Moreno indicated in his testimony that he had acted on his own and had not previously planned a terrorist attack.
USNS Mercy is a huge ship designed to provide assistance for those infected with coronavirus. According to official information, the hospital will help fight the pandemic until September.
The detainee Moreno believed that COVID-19 was just a cover and in fact the hospital was doing something else. And in order to demonstrate this “something” to the public, I decided to ram it with a train.
According to official information, for this crime Eduardo Moreno can spend in prison up to 20 years.
