Trump jokes about being "involved in" models during coronavirus briefing in White House
President Trump during a briefing on coronavirus at the White House joked about being “involved in” models while he was covering the questions about the trajectory of the virus outbreak.
“The models show hundreds of thousands of people are going to die and you know what I want to do? I want to come way under the model,” he said. “The professionals did the models and I was never involved in a model. At least this kind of a model.”
President has always been known of his connection with the modeling business. At least it can be recalled that Trump owned a modeling agency for 18 years. The agency housed such celebrities as Paris Hilton and Carol Alt. Trump Modeling Management closed in 2017 not without controversial operations before that, of course.
And let’s never forget that the First Lady, Melania Trump, is also a former model. She quit the business after she met Trump in 1998.
Trump also nurtured aspiring fashionistas while presiding over the Miss Universe Organization, where participants found their boss’s management style proactive, according to Rolling Stone.
“I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant,” Trump told SiriusXM host Howard Stern in 2005. "Therefore I’m inspecting it… ‘Is everyone OK?’ You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. And you see these incredible-looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that.”
