In fear of coronavirus Illinois couple is dead in murder-suicide
In fear of contracting coronavirus, an Illinois elderly couple committed murder-suicide in their home.
54-year-old Patrick Jesernik and his 59-year-old wife Cheryl Shriefer were found dead in separate rooms after the Will County Sheriff Office’s deputies arrived at their home in Lockport Township. Both had gunshot wounds to their heads.
The deputies discovered a loaded revolver with two spent shell casings and three additional rounds. According to the autopsy’s results, Schriefer had a gunshot to the back of her head and Jesernik died of the self-inflected wound.
“There were no signs of a struggle, and the home was neat and orderly,” authorities said in a press release, and all of the windows and doors were locked from the inside. The sheriff’s department said it had no record of domestic disputes at the address, and both Jesernik and Schriefer had had “very limited police contact.”
Authorities found out that neither of them had coronavirus.
