An Asian woman suffered racist and violent attack from four people in a bus
In New York, a hate crime was committed against a 51-year-old woman. According to police reports, an unknown woman and three teenagers insulted the victim for a long time with racist slurs, and then beat her.
Eyewitnesses and the victim say that the woman was hit with an umbrella on the head, which cleaved the skin, after which all four disappeared from the scene of the crime.
The incident occurred on March 28 in the Bronx. The victim was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where doctors stitched a bleeding head wound.
"Right now, we've seen particularly troubling instances of discrimination directed at Asian communities, particularly in the Chinese community," de Blasio said last month, reports NBC News. "This is unacceptable."
Police soon managed to catch the three 15-year-old girls involved in the crime. To date, it is not known whether the girls beat the victim or confined themselves only to racist insults. The search for the fourth suspect continues.
