California official leaves office after appearing at online meeting in a drunken state and tossed a cat
A planning commissioner of Vallejo Chris Platzer resigned after an incident at a meeting where he drank beer and, after introducing his cat to the rest of the participants, threw the animal behind the screen.
It is reported that the video conference was held on April 20. At one point, Platzer said, “I’d like to introduce my cat,” and then threw the pet.
In the original video, it is also heard that the former commissioner continues to make disgusting comments.
"I’m going to call bull— on you little b***s,» according to the original commission meeting video released by the Northern California city.
Leaving the previous state, Chris Platzer realized the consequences of his actions and wrote an email in which he apologized.
"I did not conduct myself in the Zoom meeting in a manner befitting of a planning commissioner and apologize for any harm I may have inflicted," Platzer wrote. "I serve at the pleasure of the council and no longer have that trust and backing. I extend my gratitude to those who have supported me during my tenure. I have always felt that serving Vallejo in a voluntary position is honorable because Vallejo is worth serving. We are all living in uncertain times and I certainly, like many of you, am adjusting to a new normalcy.»
At the time of publication, Platzer was not available for comment, and Vallejo spokesperson Christina Lee told the Times-Herald could not contact him to confirm leaving the commission.
