The President of the United States blocks an ironic fan account on Twitter thereby violating the First Amendment

143

Yesterday, it became known that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, still could not stand satirical comments from the public and blocked the double account @realDonaldTrFan, which in turn runs counter to the decision of the Federal Court, which limited Trump's ability to block other accounts.

Back in 2019, the Court of Appeal ruled that the president’s activities are not confidential and that the account owner, Donald Trump, cannot restrict the access to published content to any of the users.

The court referred to the fact that Donald Trump has chosen twitter as the main platform for communication with the Americans on behalf of the government, thus, in accordance with the law, every US citizen has the right to monitor what the president broadcasts.

“President Trump blocked the Parody Trump twitter account @realDonaldTrFan, even though the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the 1st Amendment forbids Trump from using Twitter’s Block Feature. Is this PROOF that Hydroxychloroquine causes mental confusion in Low-IQ Presidents?” the parody account Tweeted.

At the moment, it is unclear which of the parody tweets of the fan account infuriated the US president. Among the latter were criticisms of the ‘Obamagate’ conspiracy theory and the fact that Trump took hydroxychloroquine to protect against coronavirus.
